General Information


Jura Monts Rivieres ski area is the fastest to access if coming from Paris by the TGV (high speed train). The elevation of the villages ranges from 900 to 1,275 m and skiers can enjoy 170 km (106 miles) of cross-country trails and a good amount of snow.
Foncine-le-Haut, the largest village of this area at 20 km (12 miles) from the town of Champagnole, is the only place for downhill skiing.

  • Arsure-Arsurette, Altitude: 950 to 1,160 m.
    About 110 inhabitants.
    Cross-country skiing: 47 km of trails
    Sled area: 1
    Snowshoeing: 3 marked trails for a total of 13 km

  • Cerniebaud, Altitude: 960 to 1200 m.
    About 50 inhabitants
    Cross-country skiing: 66 km of groomed track and skating trails for all ski levels (1 black, 1 red, 2 blue, 2 green and 2 for beginners), 1 trail with light.
    Sled area: 1 for snowtubing
    Snowshoeing: 3 marked trails for a total of 17 km
    Pedestrian trail: 1

  • Foncine-le-Haut, Altitude: 860 to 1,275 m.
    Village of about 860 inhabitants, 12 km from Mouthet.
    Cross-country skiing: 17 trails for a total of 104 km of marked and well maintainded trails through nice forests and 2 trails with light.
    Downhill skiing: 1 ski lift, 1 rope tow, 2 slopes (1 red, 1 green)
    Ski jump: 1
    Sled area: 1
    Snowshoeing: 7 marked trails
    Pedestrian trail: 1

  • Mignovillard, Altitude: 870 to 1,150 m.
    About 650 inhabitants.
    Cross-country skiing: 7 trails (1 black, 2 red, 1 blue, 1 green and 2 for beginners) for a total of 61 km, 1 trail with light
    Snowshoeing: 1 trail and a loop of 16 km
    Pedestrian trail: 1
