The wines in a region vary from year to year and depend on climate and weather conditions, spring frost or unusually wet growing seasons which can damage a crop, affecting overall quality. This vintage chart reflects this, and should therefore be used for general information about the wine quality in a given year. The chart is based on averages, and thus there are always exceptions: in any vintage year, there are likely to be both outstanding as well as poor quality wines produced.
